THE SERIES
Saturday's game between Minnesota and Penn State will mark the ninth time the two teams have met on the football field with the series tied at 4-4. The two schools first met in University Park, Pa., to open the 1993 season. The game was the first for Penn State as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Penn State went on to win the first four games of the series, while the Gophers have claimed the last four wins.
