Poker itch

Registered for a freeroll at bet365. every Saturday there is a 5k hold-em tourney around 2 pm my time. Pays down to 300th and top prize is 950.00. I've gotten up to top 15 or so and won 25.00 not a bundle but more than I would have just idling away my time doing nothing here. Then I took my last 2.50 at intercasino and registered for a sat tourney to another qualifier tourney for a tourney Sunday with prize pool of 4k. Yeah I threw that money out the window but its what I have left from a seed I won a bunch of months ago getting to final table in their old Saturday night 3k. No easy feat but I won about 45.00 that day, played it up to damn near three hundred. I had that stake for maybe 3 months maybe longer slowly it gained and I'd leave it be. Well one day I went berserker and played some wild assed Omaha and another table of 1/2 no limit at the same time. Much to no ones amazement I lost my stake down to and its been pretty slow since then on my poker habit.
the account I have at intercasino was my first poker account and I never expected you could actually win money there so I registered as "Oscar Madison" well there is no Oscar Madison when you try a withdrawal needless to say I've never taken a penny out of that poker room. Its always been played down to nadda. Now that they no longer need players they don't have real freerolls and its not easy to gain a stake outta thin air anymore. And roscorude is not a lucky person like say Daniel "i'dliketopissinyoursoup" negranue, who can play a cocksucker j2 os into a motherload of a stake. No friends I'm not so lucky in gambling but extremely lucky in other things that actually matter see ya round as I poker and blog my Saturday away........

Who has time to waste on the computer

today I ask a guy working on site if he looked at the blog, (always promoting the sham that is itwassooted)(or is it spam)he says" who has time to fuck with computers every day?" or something in that vein. I thought for a few seconds on that little dig at my chronic waste of time hobby. Then I forgot what I was even thinking about five minutes earlier. I had other things to actually concentrate on. I knew I would revisit the whole exchange when I was busy wasting my time tonight.
I have tried other hobbies like binge drinking, binge drug taking, binge cards, binge bingEing,(FUCK YOU T0O) and I find that it wasn't getting me much real satisfaction after I woke up broke and I came down. Now this binge blogging is getting almost the Same satisfaction. I can binge all I care to, and so far I haven't missed a day of work because of it hell no urge to even stay home and binge blog. Imagine that eh? I can how ever still annoy the hell outta people with my hobby of binge blogging and asking people repeatedly to "hey go look see at itwassooted" and if you don't like it I might drool on ya and say F.O.

FREMONT, California (AP) -- A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home after a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries, including bites to his ankle, Detective Bill Veteran said.

The five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway Thursday, authorities said.

The teenager had been detained after the traffic incident.

The officer was treated at a hospital and returned to work less than two hours later.cnn highlights pussy cop in california

Crimestop

The first and simplest stage in the discipline, which can be taught even to young children, is called, in Newspeak, crimestop. Crimestop means the faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc, and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction. Crimestop, in short, means protective stupidity. But stupidity is not enough. On the contrary, orthodoxy in the full sense demands a control over one's own mental processes as complete as that of a contortionist over his body. Oceanic society rests ultimately on the belief that BIG BROTHER is omnipotent and that the Party is infallible.

"Bolivia's Evo Morales Shifts the Hemispheric Balance of Power"

The Power and Interest News Report

In the first of the wave of year-long presidential elections in Latin America to mark a significant shift in the Western Hemispheric balance of power between the United States and Brazil, Bolivians voted into power Evo Morales who is pledged to end Bolivia's dependence on the United States and to join the forces of regional autonomy and integration.
Recent elections in Honduras and Chile confirmed the extant balance of power. Honduras is impoverished, lacks strategic resources and is dependent on aid from Washington; voters there had a choice between two traditional parties that were both committed to pro-U.S. policies. [See: "Intelligence Brief: Elections in Honduras"]
With a successful trading relationship with the United States based on a neoliberal economic paradigm, yet eager to obtain energy supplies in the region, Chile maintained its posture of straddling the North-South gulf by giving a large plurality to Socialist Michelle Bachelet who promised a dual-track policy of continuing the country's good relations with Washington -- anchored in a bilateral trade agreement -- and pursuing regional integration through its associate membership in the Brazil-dominated Mercosur trading bloc. [See: "Intelligence Brief: Chile"]
In contrast to the Honduran and Chilean elections, Bolivia's presented a stark and genuine choice between the two contending power centers. The two leading candidates -- Morales and Jorge Quiroga -- stood at the opposite ends of the North-South divide, with Morales committed to taking Bolivia into Brazil's camp and Quiroga affirming a pro-U.S. position. Morales' victory registered a severe setback for Washington in the region.

Background:The UK government has been quick to deny that we practice, or tolerate the practice of Torture. So it is perhaps not suprising that they are determined that you should not see the following documents:

http://users.pandora.be/quarsan/craig/telegrams.pdf

http://users.pandora.be/quarsan/craig/npaper.jpg

Craig Murray was the UK ambassador to Uzbekistan, untill his complaints and protest at the use of intelligence gained by torture got too much for Jack Straw and the Foreign Office, who set about attempting to unsuccessfully smear him, and to successfully remove him from office.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3750370.stm

http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2005/04/timeline_of_cra.html

The Foreign Office has had the draft of Craig's book for clearance for over 3 months now, and they are doing everything they can to try and prevent him from publishing his side of the story. Their latest attempt to cover their own backs was to inform him, the night before Christmas Eve, that these two documents cannot be published, and that he was to return or destroy all copies immediately.
What are these documents? The first document is a series of Telegrams that Craig sent to the Foreign Office, outlining his growing concern and disgust at our use of intelligence passed to the UK by the Uzbek security services.
The second document is a copy of legal advice the Foreign Office sought, to see if they were operating within the Law in accepting torture intelligence, and according to Michael Wood the FCO legal adviser; it is fine, as long as it is not used as evidence.
Faced with this heavy handed censorship by the FCO, in an attempt to cover up our use of and complicity in torture, Craig has decided to fight back, and has asked us all to publish this information, so it cannot be suppressed.

Taps for the saps

My apologies to any actual saps or sap wanna bees:

wire taps, at home and around the world is what unka Sam does for a living. This country spends more classified money on spy craft that a large portion of the rest of the worlds countries spend on every fuckin thing they do.
we as tax payers let them. Why? Well fuck all if I know where this bullshit went unchecked and was allowed to flourish. In the interest of protection this country 'the united states" spent countless trillions on an armed force to repel foreign invaders, they called the commies. In every corner of the globe for 40 years we as tax payers spent trillions fighting secret dirty cocksucker wars. Deposing elected officials assassinations all over the globe sponsoring terrorisms in other countries and blamed it on local oppositions. oppositions to global corporations stealing of indigenous recourses.
the trillions stolen and spent allegedly didn't protect this country from this remarkable "new" enemy that alleged attacked this country with jets. Yes I say allegedly I've seen hardly a drop of real evidence that it was what has been reported is what happened. Bullshit investigations whitewash commissions and tones of classified material. fuck you its not selling here.
the stolen and wasted trillions do nothing to protect our shores when we are paying to exploit and destroy destabilize the rest of the planet at a globalista whim and fancy. Or as they like to define it "our own good" "e fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here." well bullshit again you liar mother fuckers, they allegedly can fight us right fuckin here in our pizza joints whenever they fucking please and you are not capable of stopping them. Period not capable.
back when the fake Russian boogie man collapsed you cocksuckers all got your think tanking caps on and had to come up with another bogeyman another way to keep the peoples of the world all scared and under their beds willing to give up liberties willing to give up rights willing to let government be done to them instead of government being done by the the people for the people.
your game is working you have the world bombed almost into submission almost believing you are here to protect us all, but be fucking ware you are being watched as you are watching us. And some day the civilized people here about may get tired of being scared into you stealing their minds, that we fight back and take what is ours our right to be left alone from the likes of you.

"The administration pushed the envelope by tapping their home phones."

Rice authorized National Security Agency to spy on UN Security Council in run-up to war, former officials say

President Bush and other top officials in his administration used the National Security Agency to secretly wiretap the home and office telephones and monitor private email accounts of members of the United Nations Security Council in early 2003 to determine how foreign delegates would vote on a U.N. resolution that paved the way for the U.S.-led war in Iraq, NSA documents show.
Two former NSA officials familiar with the agency's campaign to spy on U.N. members say then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice authorized the plan at the request of President Bush, who wanted to know how delegates were going to vote. Rice did not immediately return a call for comment.
The former officials said Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld also participated in discussions about the plan, which involved "stepping up" efforts to eavesdrop on diplomats.

U.K. recalls diplomat accused of torture

28 December 2005

The Times report: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,22989-1959731,00.html
The Guardian report: http://www.guardian.co.uk/attackonlondon/story/0,16132,1674303,00.html
The MI6 station chief in Athens appears to be Nicholas Langman (see Greek spelling of the name in red box in Greek paper below), Counsellor at the British Embassy in Athens. Langman has been identified as an MI6 official by Steven Dorril in MI6: Inside the Covert World of Her Majesty's Secret Intelligence Service: http://cryptome.org/mi6-sd36.htm.
Langman listed in the Foreign Office HM Diplomatic Service Overseas Reference List in August 2005:

LONDON, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Britain has recalled a diplomat from Greece who was accused by a magazine of being a spy who tortured Pakistani terror suspects.

The British government issued a gag order prohibiting the publication of the man's name, but said he had been recalled "for his own safety," The Telegraph reported Wednesday.

Proto Thema, a Greek magazine, said the man was posing as a diplomat, and was in fact the MI6 foreign intelligence station chief. It also published claims by 28 Pakistani workers that they had been beaten by British and Greek counter-terrorism officers last July as they investigated links to the July 7 London transit bombings.

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw dismissed the torture allegations as "utter nonsense."

The magazine also unmasked 15 Greek intelligence officials, which was denounced by Athens as illegal "because they endanger national security."

Greek newspaper identifies U.K. agent

ATHENS, Greece, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- A Greek newspaper has published the name of what it claims to be a British spy allegedly involved in the abduction and mistreatment of 28 Pakistani migrants.

The alleged spy was identified as the Athens chief of Britain's intelligence service MI6. The newspaper also named 15 Greek agents it said were also allegedly involved in the operation that took place after the July 7 bombings in London, reports the BBC.

The Greek intelligence agency condemned the newspaper, saying the publication of the names had endangered the safety of its agents in the field.

All the Pakistani immigrants allege they had hoods placed over their heads and some were held incommunicado for seven days, the report said.

Separately, The Times of London reported the British government, which until now has denied its officials played any part in this counter-terror operation, refused to confirm or deny if the person named in the Greek press worked at the British Embassy in Athens.

British agents accused of using torture

LONDON, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- A Greek lawyer charges British agents kidnapped and used "psychological torture" on detainees held in Greece while investigating the July 7 London bombings.

Frangiscos Ragoussis plans to present to the Greek parliament reports on what he claims was the treatment of 28 detainees, all of Pakistani origin, by Britain's MI6 officers, The Times of London said. He claims the detainees were hooded and held in secret.

He said detainees were threatened by two British agents who warned their families in Greece and Britain would suffer if they complained about their treatment, the report said.

The British government already is under pressure to investigate the alleged use British airports by U.S. agents to ferry al-Qaida suspects to secret prisons in Europe and the Middle East, The Times reported.

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has denied British airports were used by the United States for "extraordinary rendition" flights to take terrorist suspects for interrogation in third countries.

Bush's envoy sparks another diplomatic incident over war claims

By Colin Brown, Deputy Political Editor
Published: 27 December 2005

The US ambassador in London has been forced into an embarrassing retreat after his embassy clarified comments he made denying that the United States was involved in removing terrorist suspects to Syria.

Robert Tuttle told Radio 4's Today programme last Thursday that there was no evidence that US forces had sent suspected terrorists for questioning in Syria, a practice known as "extraordinary rendition".

The US embassy issued a statement yesterday acknowledging that there had been claims that a suspect arrested in New York had been sent by the CIA for torture in Syria.

“Everyone knows that people are dying in Iraq, but to walk past this on the way to work every day is too much,”

Disabled Veteran's Tribute Upsets Army Recruiters In Minnesota

By MONICA DAVEY
& THE NEW YORK TIMES NEWS SERVICE
Published on 12/27/2005

Duluth, Minn. — As those thinking of becoming soldiers arrive on the slushy doorstep of the Army recruiting station here, they cannot miss the message posted in bold black letters on the storefront next door.

“Remember the Fallen Heroes,” the sign reads, and then it ticks off numbers — the number of American troops killed in Iraq, the number wounded, the number of days gone by since this war began.

The sign, put up by a former soldier, has stirred intense debate in this city along the edge of Lake Superior.

The seven recruiters at the station here, six of whom have served in Iraq, want the sign taken away. “It's disheartening,” Staff Sgt. Gary J. Capan, the station's commander, said.

“Everyone knows that people are dying in Iraq, but to walk past this on the way to work every day is too much,” Capan said.

But Scott Cameron, who was wounded in the Vietnam War, says his sign should remain. Cameron volunteers for state Sen. Steve Kelley, a candidate for governor whose campaign opened an office next door to the recruiting station, and he has permission to post the message he describes as “not anti-war, but pro-veteran.”

Israel and the Neocons, The Libby Affair and the Internal War

By James Petras

12/27/05 "ICH" -- -- The national debate, which the indictment of Irving Lewis Libby for perjury and obstruction of justice has aroused in the mass media, has failed to address the most basic questions concerning the deep structural context, which influenced his felonious behavior. The most superficial explanation was that Libby, by exposing Valerie Plame (a CIA employee), acted out of revenge to punish her husband Wilson for exposing the lies put forth by Bush about Iraq's "importation" of uranium from Niger. Other journalists claim that Libby acted to cover up the fabrications to go to war. The assertion however raises a deeper question -- who were the fabricators of war propaganda, who was Libby protecting? And not only the "fabricators of war", but the strategic planners, speech-makers and architects of war who acted hand in hand with the propagandists and the journalists who disseminated the propaganda? What is the link between all these high- level functionaries, propagandists and journalists?
Equally important given the positions of power which this cabal occupied, and the influence they exercised in the mass media as well as in designing strategic policy, what forces were engaged in bringing criminal charges against a key operative of the cabal?

Libby's rise to power was part and parcel of the ascendancy of the neo-conservatives to the summits of US policymaking. Libby was a student, protégé, and collaborator with Paul Wolfowitz for over 25 years. Libby along with Wolfowitz, Elliot Abrams, Douglas Feith, Kagan, Cohen, Rubin, Pollack, Chertoff, Fleisher, Kristol, Marc Grossman, Shumsky and a host of other political operators were long term believers and aggressive proponents of a virulently militaristic tendency of Zionism linked with the rightwing Likud Party of Israel. Early in the 1980's, Wolfowitz and Feith were charged with passing confidential documents to Israel, the latter temporarily losing his security clearance.

Fear destroys what bin Laden could not

One wonders if Osama bin Laden didn't win after all. He ruined the America that existed on 9/11. But he had help.

By Robert Steinback

12/27/05 "Miami Herald" -- -- If, back in 2001, anyone had told me that four years after bin Laden's attack our president would admit that he broke U.S. law against domestic spying and ignored the Constitution -- and then expect the American people to congratulate him for it -- I would have presumed the girders of our very Republic had crumbled.

Had anyone said our president would invade a country and kill 30,000 of its people claiming a threat that never, in fact, existed, then admit he would have invaded even if he had known there was no threat -- and expect America to be pleased by this -- I would have thought our nation's sensibilities and honor had been eviscerated.

If I had been informed that our nation's leaders would embrace torture as a legitimate tool of warfare, hold prisoners for years without charges and operate secret prisons overseas -- and call such procedures necessary for the nation's security -- I would have laughed at the folly of protecting human rights by destroying them.

If someone had predicted the president's staff would out a CIA agent as revenge against a critic, defy a law against domestic propaganda by bankrolling supposedly independent journalists and commentators, and ridicule a 37-year Marie Corps veteran for questioning U.S. military policy -- and that the populace would be more interested in whether Angelina is about to make Brad a daddy -- I would have called the prediction an absurd fantasy.

"As a result of this finding, the poker winnings were classified as income derived from a hobby, and thus not subject to Australian tax,"

the lucky get luckier still.........
from espn.com

Who is ready to move to Australia?

World Series of Poker champion Joe Hachem's lucky streak still hasn't ended, as he pulled a miracle card out on the river against the Australian Taxation Office.

He can take home all of his WSOP winnings tax free.

Under Australian law, Hachem won't have to pay income tax on the $7.5 million he won because he was pursuing a hobby, not a career.

The Melbourne father of four defeated over 5,600 poker players en route to the main event victory in July.

Hachem's lawyers said the Australian Taxation Office had found their client was not in the business of playing poker at the time of his win. Hachem has since become a professional poker player.

"As a result of this finding, the poker winnings were classified as income derived from a hobby, and thus not subject to Australian tax," his lawyer, Peter Donovan, said in a statement.

"The distinction between the conduct of a business and the mere pursuit of a hobby is often a difficult distinction to draw.

"However, the fact that you excel at a particular hobby should not be fatal for tax purposes."

“the Triumvirate.”

will his flock get the tar and feathers or just forgive him and wash away his sins with more cash for the trials?

Did he fleece his flock? In the 1990’s, as the head of the Christian Coalition, Ralph Reed became the face of Christian conservativism. And what a face: Scrubbed and clean - innocent-looking as a choirboy.

While some might see “tells” of fakery in Reed’s syrupy, corporatized speech patterns and overly formal mannerisms, his soothing demeanor undoubtedly has an appeal among ultra-rightwing voters. Over past five years or so, he has made a small fortune as a lobbyist and fundraiser working with Christian organizations.

Recently, investigators into the Indian gaming scandals uncovered evidence that Reed may have abused the trust of Christian groups by surreptitiously using their political clout to line his own pockets with millions of dollars.

Group sex club patrons swinging free
By Robert Melnbardis Tue Dec 27, 8:38 AM ET

MONTREAL (Reuters) - On a recent night out on the town, Michel and Chantal Delbecchi left their suburban Montreal home and drove to the L'Orage Club in the city's east end, where they had sex with a couple they had never met before.
The Delbecchis, husband and wife since 1978, are "echangistes," French for "swingers," who for the past 21 years have been visiting clubs like L'Orage (Thunderstorm) to have consensual sex in a group with one or more other people.
For future outings, they will no longer have to fear police will raid the club and arrest them for being in a "bawdy house," a place where prostitution or acts of public indecency take place.
In a landmark decision on Dec, 21, the Supreme Court of Canada lifted a ban on swingers' clubs, ruling that group sex among consenting adults is neither prostitution nor a threat to society.

What is Boxing Day?

Despite its name, Boxing Day, which is celebrated on December 26 in Great Britain, has nothing to do with pugilistic competition. Nor is it a day for people to return unwanted Christmas presents. While the exact origins of the holiday are obscure, it is likely that Boxing Day began in England during the Middle Ages.

Some historians say the holiday developed because servants were required to work on Christmas Day, but took the following day off. As servants prepared to leave to visit their families, their employers would present them with gift boxes.

Church Alms Boxes

Another theory is that the boxes placed in churches where parishioners deposited coins for the poor were opened and the contents distributed on December 26, which is also the Feast of St. Stephen.

As time went by, Boxing Day gift giving expanded to include those who had rendered a service during the previous year. This tradition survives today as people give presents to tradesmen, mail carriers, doormen, porters, and others who have helped them.

First Weekday after Christmas

Boxing Day is celebrated in Great Britain and in most areas settled by the English (the U.S. is the major exception), including Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. However, Boxing Day is generally considered to be the first weekday following Christmas. If Christmas falls on a Friday or a weekend then Boxing Day is the following Monday.

Bank Holidays

Boxing Day is just one of the British bank holidays recognized since 1871 that are observed by banks, government offices, and the post office. The others include Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, Whitmonday (the day after Pentecost), and the banking holiday on the first Monday in August.

St. Stephen's Martyrdom.

The Feast of St. Stephen also takes place on December 26. St. Stephen was one of the seven original deacons of the Christian Church who were ordained by the Apostles to care for widows and the poor. For the success of his preaching and his devotion to Christ, St. Stephen was stoned to death by a mob. As he died, he begged God not to punish his killers

Some people think that Ebenezer Scrogge is
Well he's not, but guess who is
All three stooges
So many Jews are in show biz
Tom Cruise isnt, but I heard his agent is
Tell your friend Veronica
It's time to celebrat Hanukkah
Don't forget harmonica
On this lovely, lovely Hanukkah
So drink your gin and tonic-a
And smoke your maraijuana-ca
If you really, really, really, really wanna-ka
Have a happy, happy, happy, happy, Hannukah
Happy Hanukkah

Adam Sandler - Hanukkah Song Part Two

Time to take out those menorahs!
Put on your yamaca
It's time for Hanukkah
So much fun-uka
To celebrate Hanukkah
Hanukkah is, the festival of lights
Instead of one day of presents
We get eight crazy nights
When you feel like the only kid in town
Without a Christmas tree
Here's a new list of people who are Jewish
Just like you and me
Winona Ryder drinks Manashevits' wine
Then spins a dredl with Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein
Guess who give and receives loads of Hanukkah toys?
The girls from Barukasouhl and all three Beastie Boys
Lenny Kravitz is half Jewish, Courtney Love is half too
Put them together, what a funky, bad-ass Jew
We got Harvey Kitell and falsh dancer Jennifer Bills
Jasmins Bleuth from Baywatche is Jewish and
Yes her boobs are real
O.J. Simpson, still not a Jew
But guess who is, the guy who does the voice for
Scooby-Doo
Bob Dylan was born a Jew, then he wasn't, but now he's back
Mary Tyler Moore's husband is Jewish 'cuz we're pretty good
In the sack
Guess who got bar mitzvah-ed on the PGA tour?
No I'm not talking about Tiger Woods, I'm talking about
Mr. Happy Gilmore
So many Jews are in the show-biz
Bruce Springsteen isn't Jewish, but my mother thinks he is
Tell that old harmonica, it's time to celebrate Hanukkah
It's not pronounced Chanukkah
The C is silent in Hanukkah
So your your Hooked on Phonic-a
Get drunk in Teawonica
If you really really wanna-ka
Have a happy, happy, happy, happy Hanukkah

An Explosion on the Moon

So you thought nothing ever happens on the moon?

December 23, 2005: NASA scientists have observed an explosion on the moon. The blast, equal in energy to about 70 kg of TNT, occurred near the edge of Mare Imbrium (the Sea of Rains) on Nov. 7, 2005, when a 12-centimeter-wide meteoroid slammed into the ground traveling 27 km/s.

"What a surprise," says Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) researcher Rob Suggs, who recorded the impact's flash. He and colleague Wes Swift were testing a new telescope and video camera they assembled to monitor the moon for meteor strikes. On their first night out, "we caught one," says Suggs.

Iraqi court disqualifies prominent Sunni candidates

you can vote but you cannot win? And I'm a tad suspicious of this line also from knight ridder "Knight Ridder has obtained a copy of the court ruling, which has yet to be circulated to the public." how do you get these rulings and why are you the disseminators of this information who the fook are you people? Who pays you to do this service? How wide spread will you make this news? Will you tout it as loudly as the election success stories were touted?

Iraqi court disqualifies prominent Sunni candidates
By Nancy A. Youssef and Huda Ahmed
Knight Ridder Newspapers

BAGHDAD, Iraq - An Iraqi court has ruled that some of the most prominent Sunni Muslims who were elected to parliament last week won't be allowed to serve because officials suspect that they were high-ranking members of Saddam Hussein's Baath Party.

Knight Ridder has obtained a copy of the court ruling, which has yet to be circulated to the public.

The ruling is likely to dampen Bush administration hopes that the election would bring more of the disaffected Sunni minority into Iraq's political process and undermine Sunni support for the insurgency. Instead, the decision is likely to stoke fears of widening sectarian divisions in a nation already in danger of descending into civil war.

Adil al-Lami, the chief electoral official of the Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq, told Knight Ridder that he would honor the court's decision and that none of the accused Sunnis would appear on the final list of parliament members.

Turkish truck drivers end strike, resume fuel transportation to Iraq

we can never be sure who or why stories like this are published. But why does Iraq need to be importing fuels from out of country if this rebuilding is going so bloody smooth? Is it true that the infrastructure was so heavily damaged by ten years of sanctions and constant bombings by the neo-colonialist? Or is this oil rich countries insurgency destroying the ability for the colonialist from taking charge of their resources?

ANKARA, Dec 24 (KUNA) — Turkish fuel-transporting truck drivers ended on Saturday a week long strike, resuming their trips to transport diesel and gasoline from the Turkish governorate of Sirnak to Iraq.

The trucks queue near the Turkish-Iraq border stretched to 35 kilometers because of tight security procedures, said Turkish Cihan News Agency. Turkish authorities imposed strict security measures after learning about some truck drivers selling part of their loads before crossing the border to Iraq.

Vice President of Turkish Transportation Associations, Abdullah Doro asserted that the association had not defended the scams committed by a number of drivers, but refused accusing the entire market.

The strike led to shortage of diesel and gasoline supply in Iraq, which led to the flourish of fuel black-market during the last two weeks.

"end the colonial state"

Bolivia: Race and Revolution

Bolivia has had more presidents by far than any other country in South America, mainly because so many of them were overthrown long before their terms ended. They were also all white, even though the majority of Bolivia’s population is "indigenous", descended wholly or in part from the Indians whose ancestors already lived there as subjects of the Incan empire at the time of the Spanish conquest five centuries ago. So what are the odds that Evo Morales, Bolivia’s first indigenous president, will survive a full term of office ? Morales, who won an absolute majority of the votes in last Sunday’s presidential election, faces not only the usual hazards of life as the president of South America’s poorest country, but also the threat of American intervention to overthrow him.

As a socialist whose declared goal is to "end the colonial state" and a leader of the coca farmers who promises to lift the ban on growing coca leaf, the crop from which cocaine is produced, he is deeply unpopular in Washington.

In the past, policies that are unpopular in the United States have proved to be bad for the president’s health in a number of Latin American countries. To those who argue that the Bush administration is too deeply mired in the war in Iraq to contemplate acting against Morales, the pessimists point out that the US found the time to organise the overthrow of the president in Chile in 1973 despite being neck-deep in the Vietnam war. The election of Morales, they fear, will finally focus Washington’s attention on how countries all over Latin America are rejecting US tutelage.

(CerbFestivus) SantaRosco is coming to town

I got up sorta Saturday early, being its festivus and all, not wanting to miss a second. I made coffee combed my hair started the truck and off into town I rode.
yesterday we shut the job down at noon and took the crews to the bar across the street for the usual holiday cheer them and there beers and bloody holiday marys I and my cranberry juice. It looked and sounded like the holiday lubricating of the souls was working as I left them all to a happy holidays cheer out the door. My mission was really to get off earlier in the afternoon three days ahead of the holiday Christmas and get my wife a present worthy of the fine patient woman she is.
ha that aint fookun happening. I went to the first of prolly 5 mall like areas in our small town looking for gawd knows what. I ambled into radio shack and almost got her a robotic valasaraptor, but figured she wouldn't use it past the 5 minutes after opening it , cause she's busy makin a turkey and, well she aint 7 anymore. Left with nuttin and wandered towards the cost-cutters at the other end of the strip mall. There were three woman sitting around just chomping for a 3 dollar commission on my hair cut. Its been about a year since I've been in a formal barber shop/stylist, so i was due. That done I went up town further and saw to my chagrin, a zillion cars in the lots of alllllll the gawd damn stores. There were several hundred cars waiting at stop lights. There were people milling about on every fookun corner. I could feel a terrible agoraphobic reaction coming on. Hurriedly took evasive action and drove behind the malls in the loading alleys out to the main stretch of town road back towards my humble shelter. Whew a sigh of relief, a wash of terror wafted over and was gone. now away from insaniacs away from the maniacal laughter of a dead Sam Walton overseeing his zillion stores, raking in a zillion dollars a second on a crush of Christmas buying guilt. I fucking hate it I tell you I hate it.
Safely home I contemplated my next move, it would be an early morning sneak attack on Christmas eve. Nobody ever expects the Christmas eve early morning sneak attack.
I went back to Sam waltons, "china deals are us" walked around 20 minutes, pushed the cart back to the cart corral empty, and whistled a carol out the door. There was absolutely nuttin in there that I thought she wanted needed or deserved nothing.
next stop menards. Here I knew there was something for everybody. I looked at a dishwasher, ours is getting old and she hinted at that. But no I didn't buy it mainly because it would take me a few days to hook it up remove the old one. Later for that. Much later like when the one we have explodes into a million pieces and wounds someone.
I found an extra wide tape measure holder for my fatmax 35' tape been looking for one awhile the day arrives that i now can secure my ruler! I wandered aimlessly looking at crap I know I know she neither wanted craved deserved or needed.
but.
I know she would buy herself some crap here if given the chance. I checked out my tape holder and bought her a gift card to do her own crap shopping.
now I need a gawd damn card to put the card into. Onto target, its still not sunrise.
I wander into the target just as its opening.i grab the card I want after looking at exactly two, one over my usual limit. Then wander over to the CLEARANCE rack, all crap and hardly a deal that says they are serious about clearing the garbage out.
then I'm wandering back towards the cashiers area going down a deserted isle because it is 6:45 am in the Midwestern united states I am alone at peace a lone Christmas shopper not a stray elbow in site.
as I'm walking this lonely corridor I notice a gait I've never noticed from me, it seems I'm walking like a fat man I am lolling side to side. I am swaggering as if I'm 400 pounds. I could almost feel my arms sticking out as they are too fat to rest comfortable at my sides. I looked seriously in the mirror yesterday and saw a second chin predating. I have never had a second chin and it was disturbing, for a second. As I'm walking like a fat man I start to sing, " he walks like a fat man walks like he has two chins, walks like a fat man. (sung to this elvis tune), I shook my head to get that melody out of my brain in a hurry, and tried desperately to walk light footed without breaking an ankle from the strain of the added weight. That lasted a few steps and I was back to walking like a fat man. But my Christmas shopping is done. I am at peace with most of the world for a day or so and f.o. if you don't like it.....................

Sweden to probe dark eugenics history

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Sweden launched a probe on Wednesday to understand how eugenics, a theory on improving the human race used by Nazi Germany to justify the Holocaust, became broadly accepted in the Nordic state in the early 20th century.

Sweden is now known for its strong social welfare system and outspoken advocacy for human rights, but in the past it has experimented with social engineering. This led to abuses such as the forcible sterilization of around 60,000 women in 1936-76.

In 1922, the National Institute for Race Biology was founded with support from a range of political parties. The first of its kind in the world, the institute investigated whether race was a determining factor in illness or human character traits.

He who lies most, lies worst.

Wayne Madsen ReportDecember 22, 2005 -- He who lies most, lies worst. President Bush is contending that a government leak about Osama Bin Laden using his satellite phone in 1998 resulted in the Al Qaeda leader avoiding the phone or "going dark," to use an National Security Agency (NSA) term. That, Bush maintains, resulted in an intelligence failure.

Once again, Bush is just plain lying (along with being misinformed). It was no secret that Bin Laden stopped using his satellite phone in 1996 after Chechen President Dzhokar Dudayev was killed by a Russian air-to-ground missile as he was talking on his satellite phone. In that case, Dudayev erred by keeping his conversation longer than two minutes, ample time for a joint Russian-US operation to pinpoint his location using an overhead U.S. communications intelligence satellite. The editor reported and spoke in detail on that operation in 1996 ("DID NSA HELP RUSSIA TARGET DUDAYEV?"
by Wayne Madsen, Covert Action Quarterly, Summer 1997.

Any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.

Cheney: If You Don’t Support Everything I Do, You Aren’t Serious About Terrorism

Here’s the problem. No one in the Bush administration can explain how this program helped America fight terrorists. Under existing law, surveillance can begin immediately. (The government just has to obtain a warrant from the FISA court with 72 hours). The secret program didn’t save time — it just avoided checks on abuse. Cheney’s cartoonish characterization of his critics arguments doesn’t change that. cheney stole chandras heart bank on it

200 university teachers and students were shot at as they were marching

Sri Lankan military fires on Jaffna university protest
By our Jaffna correspondents
21 December 2005

On two successive days this week, the Sri Lankan security forces have fired on and assaulted unarmed protesters from Jaffna University. These provocative actions have further inflamed an already tense situation in northern Sri Lanka and threaten to undermine the three-year ceasefire between the government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

On Monday, more than 200 university teachers and students were shot at as they were marching towards the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM), which oversees the ceasefire. The protestors wanted to present a letter requesting that the SLMM intervene to stop the military harassment of Tamils in the Jaffna area.

When the marchers reached the Parameswara junction, about 200 metres from the university, they were blocked by soldiers. When the university vice chancellor attempted to argue for their right to march, troops opened fire then rushed the crowd, beating staff and students with their rifle butts.

There is growing unease among foreign energy companies based Latin America

Venezuela gives Exxon ultimatum

By Greg Morsbach
BBC News, Caracas

Venezuela has given the world's biggest oil company, ExxonMobil, until the end of this year to enter a joint venture with the state.

Failure to do so will almost certainly result in Exxon losing its oil field concessions in the country.

Venezuela's socialist government has now signed new agreements with almost all foreign petroleum companies.

After months of pressure from left- wing leader Hugo Chavez most foreign oil firms working there have caved in.

They have agreed to hand over a controlling stake of their oil interests to the Venezuelan state.

This means that Venezuela, which has the world's largest petroleum reserves, now calls the shots in what the foreign guests can and cannot do.

In addition, the companies which have signed the new contracts - such as Chevron, BP, Shell and Total - will in future be presented with much higher tax bills by the government.

"nightmare vote."

wayne madsen reportDecember 20, 2005 -- Coup watch. CNN (the Corporate News Network) referred to the stunning election victory of Movement Towards Socialism leader and Aymara Indian Evo Morales in Bolivia's presidential election as a "nightmare vote." With Morales now putting Bolivia firmly into the anti-Bush Latin American bloc (soon to be joined by Nicaragua, Mexico, and possibly Peru and Ecuador), there will be more stories about cocaine smuggling (Morales headed the coca growers' union) and Chavez's and Fidel Castro's "interference" in other Latin American nations. The U.S. military will now increase its presence in Paraguay (where it has a huge airbase) and Ecuador to rattle the sabers at Morales and his other Latin allies.

"The fight against drug trafficking is a false pretext for the United States to install military bases and we're not in agreement,"

Bolivia's Morales further slams US drug policies

By Adriana Barrera
Mon Dec 19, 5:08 PM ET

COCHABAMBA, Bolivia (Reuters) - Evo Morales, who won Bolivia's presidential election on vows to end a U.S. campaign against coca growing, stepped up his criticism of American anti-drug policies on Monday, accusing Washington of using drug fighting efforts to militarize the region.

In his first news conference since claiming victory on Sunday Morales -- who took a surprisingly strong majority and will be Bolivia's first Indian leader -- insisted he was opposed to drugs but disputed Washington's methods.

"The fight against drug trafficking is a false pretext for the United States to install military bases and we're not in agreement," he told reporters.

"We support an effective fight against drugs. Neither cocaine or drug trafficking are part of the Bolivian culture," he said in his stronghold of Cochabamba as the first official results from Sunday's vote trickled in.

Washington considers Morales, who first rose to power as the leader of the country's coca leaf farmers, an enemy in its anti-drug fight in Bolivia, the third biggest cocaine producer after Colombia and Peru.

Vikings take the bus

I'm not back on the band wagon assholes, just a public service message.
the Vikings are at home today against a solid squad the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"the bus" Jerome bettis should have a lot to say today about the Vikings playoff aspirations. He's a load to hold. I think their qb rothesburger has some nagging injuries, he could fuck up just enough at these hungry Viking ball Steelers in the secondary. Only one team in the nfl has more picks than the queens that's cincy.
this looks to me to be the game to determine if the Vikings are ready willing and able to play in the nfl playoffs. Any fuck up here they would prove they are not quality to advance. Even if by some fluke they would, it would just be a temporary mind fuck to the real Viking fanatics around the country. They will be let down yet again but they will tell you what a fun ride it was, an d hey BTW lets dump Dante.

Presidential candidate, coca grower and Aymara Indian leader, Evo Morales

Thirty-eight years after the revolutionary perished in the Bolivian foothills, Evo Morales is poised to become the first indigenous president of the impoverished country which has been run by politicians of European descent since independence in 1825

In the Footsteps of Che Guevara: Democracy in South America
by Daniel Howden

The red carpet shines like blood in the intense heat of a La Paz summer afternoon. It marks the path of a marching band in colonial uniform, cutting a swath down and across Plaza Murilla, the capital's main square. The toy soldiers in their Spanish-era coats pass in front of the fresh bullet-holes pock-marking the Council headquarters and march on to the decorative façade of the National Congress. They are flanked by colleagues in combat fatigues bearing tear-gas rifles, a reminder of the unrest that threatens to engulf Bolivia.

Presidential candidate, coca grower and Aymara Indian leader, Evo Morales (R), and his vice presidential candidate Alvaro Garcia Linera, wave to supporters at the Felix Capriles stadium in Cochabamba, Bolivia, during their electoral campaing closing rally. Morales, the front-runner in Bolivia's presidential race, delivered a defiant speech in the country's economic capital as his campaign wound down, vowing to fight 'parasitic' businesses that feed off the poor(AFP/Aizar Raldes)

Inside the grand and gloomy neo-classical hallways, the Congress is filled with yellowing portraits of the great and good, of European descent, offering a gilt-edged history lesson on who has ruled Latin America's poorest, highest and most racially polarised country since independence in 1825.
